On April 9, the World Music Awards announced the 20 best-selling albums worldwide so far in 2017 on their official Facebook page.
The list examines the first quarter (January-March) of 2017 to see which albums had the most total consumption sales. Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” topped the list with 3,626,000 sales, while his previous album “X” also hit the list at No. 16 with 547,000 sales.
BTS’s “Wings: You Never Walk Alone,” a repackaged version of their previous album “Wings” released on February 13, took the No. 14 spot with 565,000 sales. As of the first quarter, BTS is the only Korean artist and one of three Asian artists that made the Top 20.
